On November 19th at the XNUMXth AIE Conference in Madrid, Martin Gordon held a workshop addressing the intractable problem of converting the semantic chaos of the speech of Donald Trump into culturally-valuable material. Using a process based in part on the medieval practice of chrysopeia whereby alchemists attempted to turn valueless base material into gold, Gordon introduced participants to his methodology which extracts metrical information from extemporised speech for use as the metric basis for music compositions.
