Modern Amazons are fierce heroines. They are ready to fight for what is important to them. Without explaining, without compromising, always persisting. They fight for victory in the ring, for acceptance, and also, for fellow sufferers and humanity.
"I often imagined myself as a female warrior, who fights against all the injustices. I dreamed to play in a punk band and on the way to realise this dream accidentally destroyed the record player of my parents. Walking across Berlin I searched for female artists on the street posters, but without success. The images of women in our time are purely decorative: smiling seductively, leaning in bikini on a car... It couldn’t be true! Inspired by my childhood phantasies I started searching for other types of women - those who would make me act and fight. The amazons of the present time - the urban amazons.” - Thais Odermatt
