Hanno Moritz Kunow was born in Berlin in 1974. Following his training as a photographer from 1990 to 1993, he worked as a photographer, clapper loader, camera assistant, and set lighting technician for various film and television productions. Kunow obtained a higher education entrance certificate via second-chance education and, at the turn of the millennium, enrolled at HFF Konrad Wolf in Potsdam-Babelsberg. After earning a Diplom degree in Cinematography in 2006, he worked as a freelance cinematographer, photographer, and colorist.
