Summerclass for pupils

For the third time, the Film University and the babelsberger filmgymnasium secondary school invite pupils (age 15 to 18) to attend the Summerclass. In the first week, the workshop focuses on the different qualifications and departments in the film production. In the second week, participants will shoot their own film project which will be presented at the last day of the workshop.

The Summerclass is a program of the Filmuni Summer School in collaboration with the babelsberger filmgymnasium secondary school. The project is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Federal State of Brandenburg via the Brandenburg Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Women and Family (MASGF).

Content

The Summerclass for pupils focuses on the different qualifications and departments in the film production. Participants learn how the different departments collaborate in a film production. They will then shoot their own film project in the second week. Faculty members, students, alumni from Film University and other filmmakers instruct the participants in theory and practice. Also, the participants learn about the study programs and possibilites at Film University.

Registration and Participation

The Summerclass is directed at pupils aged 15 to18 who have an interest in film and would like to explore the theory and practice of filmmaking in a workshop setting. Participating in the Summerclass does not require any previous knowledge of film. Please apply through the online registration form with CV and motivation letter. Spots are limited and will be awarded based on registration date after assessment of the application and receipt of the participation fee.

The fee covers the participation in the course, materials, technical equipment and the use of the studio. Meals and accommodation expenses are not included and must be covered by participants. We will be happy to provide you with recommendations for accommodations in the vicinity.
