Anna de Paoli

Anna de Paoli was appointed professor of Film Production at the Film University in 2024. With her company Schattenkante, she produces award-winning auteur genre films and founded the film education initiative FILM MACHT SCHULE. She continues her commitment to film policy through her work with the Hauptverband Cinephilie and the Initiative Zukunft Kino+Film, as well as in film education networks and as a member of the advisory board of Vision Kino.

She has been teaching at various film schools and universities since 2015. From 2017 to 2022, she served as the lead instructor for the Film Production program at the DFFB and oversaw the “International Producers Program.” As part of the “Central European Feature Project,” in collaboration with Famu and the Łódź Film School, she co-led the “Feature Film Development” initiative.

While pursuing her studies (University of the Arts, DFFB) and working as a producer, she spent 15 years at the Berlin International Film Festival, most recently as program manager of the German Films department. She continues to curate and host industry events, including for the genre festival SLASH (the) INDUSTRY in Vienna and the Munich Film Festival.
