Application Process

At the Film University you have the choice of 23 degree programs.

Different admission requirements apply to the degree programs. Please inform yourself about the requirements and selection process of your desired degree program before applying to the Film University. Please also note the different application deadlines for the various programs.

Preparing a complete and convincing application can easily require considerable time. We therefore strongly recommend that you check which documents, certificates, work samples, admission tests, etc. you need to submit online for a valid application and start preparing these well ahead of the start of the application period. You will find the necessary information directly on the page of your desired degree program.

Applicants holding foreign educational qualifications are advised to allocate extra time for preparing their application. 

All applicants must submit their application online via the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF admissions portal. Please first register on the admissions portal and then submit your application there.

Note: Please have all required documents and files ready before beginning the application process.

ATTENTION! Shortly before the application deadline, server issues and delays in the online application process may occur due to a large number of (last-minute) applications. So don’t wait until the very last day of the deadline! Applications and supplementary documents submitted after the application deadline will not be accepted!

Please note:

• Applications in paper form will NOT be considered.
• Registration/application in the university application portal is exclusively possible during the application period. Please note that the application deadline is a cut-off deadline.
• An administrative fee is charged for the application (not for the B.A. program Digital Media Culture). Applications for which the administrative fee has not been remitted will not be considered for the assessment procedure.
• Do not include any links with your application. For security reasons, we are not permitted to open external links; therefore, their content cannot be taken into consideration.
• Incomplete applications will not be considered for the assessment procedure.
• You can track the processing status of your application in the university application portal. Please refrain from making inquiries by telephone
• If you hold a foreign certificate and have already registered and applied using uni-assist, you must additionally apply on the Film University's application portalregardless of this.
