The Film University as Employer
The success of the Film University is made possible by the school's community. More than 200 employees in teaching and research, some 180 freelance instructors, and approx. 130 administrative employees ensure optimal studying conditions and the individual supervision of our 730 students.
The Film University is not only an exciting and diverse place to study, but also an institution offering creative and committed people a state-of-the-art work environment as well as modern, appealing employment conditions. As employees' needs are as diverse as the tasks they are responsible for, we provide an extensive offer for our staff – including professional development options, flexible work hours, and ergonomic workplace design as well as sports and relaxation activities. Numerous measures and programs promoting human resources development, health management, and continuing education ensure that our employees get personalized support and opportunities to develop their careers.
Staff members with families benefit from the university's family-friendly structures. The Film University's definition of 'family' covers all relationships in which the persons involved assume long-term social responsibility for other people. This includes parents and children, partners, siblings, grandparents, and relatives in need of care.
Quality of Teaching
High-quality teaching is important to us. The Film University is a member of the Brandenburg Network for the Quality of University Education (sqb). Our teaching staff benefit from further training in university didactics as well as advice on teaching quality enhancement. A broad offer including workshops, personal advice, and programs for specific target groups supports both individual and team-based teaching and keeps instructors up-to-date about developments in university didactics in their programs or areas of studies.
