On October 15 and 16, 2026, Oguzhan Baran and Tobias Frühmorgen successfully completed the defenses of their scholarly-artistic doctoral dissertations in the Screenwriting/Dramaturgy program.
Oguzhan Baran’s thesis uses autoethnography and essay film to examine how personal and collective memories are anchored in specific spaces and can be made tangible through film. Tobias Frühmorgen’s thesis explores the conditions of human-AI co-creation in the writing of a feature film screenplay using large language models.
