Wavery is an innovative AI software company specializing in audio transcription and search solutions for media professionals. Originating from the Filmuniversität Babelsberg’s start-up hub, Wavery addresses the unique challenges of film, podcast, and media post-production workflows by combining privacy-first, on-device AI technology with a user-friendly interface. Our tools allow media creators to efficiently search, transcribe, and edit large volumes of audio content, saving valuable production time while ensuring complete data security.
Founded by Jonathan Ho (alumni of Filmuniversität Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF, Creative Technologies) and Kai Shimada (alumni of University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Tonmeister), Wavery draws on their combined expertise in film audio post-production and technical innovation. Their deep understanding of the creative process has driven the development of tools that empower artists to focus on their craft without being limited by technical constraints.
In 2024, Wavery received the EXIST Start-up Grant, supported by the Startup Center at Film University Babelsberg. The team is also part of the MTH Accelerator program, a 12-month initiative designed to support early-stage B2B startups in securing Angel, Pre-Seed, or Seed funding, and represented the German delegation in the German Pavilion at Websummit 2024. Participation in these programs and industry events has provided Wavery with valuable visibility and support to transform their innovative vision into a market-ready solution.
