Arkanum Pictures emerged over the past year as a hub for bold, innovative projects driven by both content and technology in Babelsberg. Among these ventures is the magical-realistic series "Wingspan," brought to life in collaboration with Dark Bay at Studio Babelsberg with support from the Medienboard.
Arkanum Pictures operates on a cooperative model, empowering partner filmmakers to realize their projects largely autonomously within its framework. The company's four partners, Lukas Koll, Sebastian Herbst, Janna Fodor, and Stephan Bernardes, currently engage over a dozen emerging filmmakers from the Berlin-Brandenburg region.
Arkanum received the Gründungsservice coaching in their funding phase in 2022, followed by Film University's STARTBÜRO scholarship, which the company received in 2024. The grant is primarily intended to be invested in further education to strengthen the competitiveness of the community and to attract new partners who expand the portfolio of individually differentiated artistic and production orientations.
Outside of projects, they are committed through their non-profit initiative DAS KOLLABORATIV to building methodological knowledge in team-based material development and promoting emerging talent in filmmaking.
