Women Do Tech!
Women* and technology go together quite well. Even though stereotypes persist in some people's minds and women are still underrepresented in many technically-oriented degree programs, there are enough examples and role models that show it can be different. Here we introduce you to female students and professors from CTech and show what they associate with their work and studies.
*by women, we understand here all persons who identify with this term.
[Translate to englisch:] When I was a kid, I was astonished by all the magic of fairy tales and Harry Potter stories. Now with technology, we are able to recreate all the magic spells. Isn't it amazing?“
[Translate to englisch:] “What interests me the most is exploring new forms of artistic expression through technology.”
[Translate to englisch:] "I like the logic behind programming, but most of all I enjoy implementing creative ideas with coding and technology and expressing my thoughts that way.”
[Translate to englisch:] „What I like about being creative with technology is the many forms and formats of media that you can create and work with, remix and reshape, and use directly to connect with other people.”
[Translate to englisch:] “Programming and being up-to-date with the current state of tech empowers me to approach any project idea with “so how can we do this” instead of “I don’t think that’s going to work”. Of course, coding can also be frustrating from time to time, but mostly it’s fun with happy little accidents.”
[Translate to englisch:] “Humans are allergic to change. They love to say, ‘We’ve always done it this way.’ I try to fight that. That’s why I have a clock on my wall that runs counterclockwise.”
[Translate to englisch:] “I like to tell stories: new, interactive and transmedia tools are allowing me to experiment with storytelling and the experiences I am creating.”
[Translate to englisch:] “Modern technologies allow me to expand my artistic visions in time and space with continuously new options coming up to explore.”
[Translate to englisch:] “I love creative coding because I get to solve riddles as a medium between my phantasy and the canvas.”
[Translate to englisch:] “I like programming because it helps bring to life my crazy ideas and see them evolve. You can start from nothing and quickly advance to the level of complex structures. And there is always so much to explore, always a room for creativity to flourish.”
[Translate to englisch:] „I like to build meaningful interfaces between humans and computers to bring out the best on both sides.”
