On June 10, the ninth exchange between the Film University and the UNCSA, University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem came to a successful end. Students from both universities each made a short film in the city of the partner university - with active support on site. An intensive creative process that offered a variety of insights into different approaches to film work and new perspectives on production methods and teamwork. The exchange was accompanied by joint screenings, more than a few celebrations and, most recently, a tour of Media City and Studio Babelsberg. A particular highlight was the invitation from Berlinale director Tricia Tuttle to talk about current developments in the festival and about a young, cinephile generation of filmmakers and viewers.

Especially in times of increasing political tensions, personal, artistic exchange between young people is more important than ever. We are already looking forward to the anniversary round for the tenth exchange in 2026 - the new call for entries is planned for the beginning of the winter semester.
