Carousel Film, run by Maritza Grassand Vincent Edusei focuses on developing and producing films and series for the global market, with a specialization in international co-productions. Their productions emphasize bold cinematic language and diverse storytelling from a variety of perspectives, continuously working to break down barriers for BIPOC, FLINTA*, LGBTQIA+, and parents within the industry.
Carousel Film’s mission is to tell powerful, socially relevant stories with a unique cinematic approach, creating new spaces in a faster spinning world. They strive to develop and produce projects through trusting collaboration, offering diverse voices an international platform and redefining prevailing narratives with compelling stories from unique perspectives. Clear and reliable communication is key to their approach, breaking down barriers in every production phase to highlight and cultivate long-term perspectives for all positions involved.
Carousel Film received Gründungsservice coaching during the funding phase in 2022. In 2024, they were awarded the Film University's STARTBÜRO Babelsberg scholarship. This scholarship has been instrumental in advancing their projects and establishing a sustainable production culture. The support from the scholarship, along with mentorship and educational opportunities, helps them network with international talents and partners, and solidify their presence at the Babelsberg location.
