Funding Opportunities

The Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF sees it as its responsibility to actively support young academics, scientists and artists in gaining qualifications. The central funding instrument is the personal supervision of qualification projects by professors and the creative exchange with colleagues.

The Film University would also like to support the qualification of young talent financially. There is a graduate scholarship that can be awarded to a doctoral candidate every 3 years for 3 years of monthly financial support. The next call for applications is due at the end of 2024.

There is currently also a final scholarship (6 months) for female doctoral candidates. Whether this can be continued is yet to be announced.

In addition, a total of €5,000 in annual material funding is still available for doctoral students.

In addition, the Film University has set up a position for the promotion of young academics. Dr. Julia Scho advises on all questions relating to additional qualification opportunities, for example via the Potsdam Graduate School and the FU Berlin, on scholarships and calls for applications and organizes in-house events aimed at young academics.
