The subconscious of the lightbulb salesman Jemal is stimulated by a painting in a hotel room. Past incidents come over him in his sleep. The image of a woman slowly creeps into his psyche. She appears to him in different ways, that drives him mad. The borders blur - what is reality and what is imagination?
