EU Funding

EU research funding is often challenging, but it also offers opportunities that are hard to find in other programmes. In addition to prestigious funding from the European Research Council (ERC) or individual career development through a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) fellowship, these are primarily collaborative projects with international partners. In a Europe that is growing together as part of a globalised world, these international collaborations are becoming increasingly important.

Our interests in the expansion of EU research funding are twofold: First, as a strong partner in European alliances, we want to further develop the expertise and excellence of our researchers and make them visible on the European stage. Secondly, we aim to establish ourselves internationally as a central location for moving image research.

Important resources for initial research in the area of EU funding opportunities are the European Commission's Funding & Tenders Portal and the CORDIS project database, as well as the services of the EU Cooperation Centre of the Scientific Organisations (KoWi) and the EU Office of the BMBF as coordinator of the national contact points.
