Short Biography

Timo Gößlerworked as an assistant director for various film, television, and theater productions before he studied Screenwriting / Dramaturgy at HFF Konrad Wolf. The films based on the screenplays he wrote as a student were shown, among others, at the Max Ophüls Film Festival in Saarbrückenand the Berlinale. In 2004, he received a Sat 1 Talent Class Award for his short film screenplay "Blue Hotel".    

As a screenwriter, Gößler was involved in numerous feature and documentary film productions (e.g., "Football Under Cover" (Prix Europa)). He was a member of Germany's first writers' room based entirely on the US model, which created and wrote several episodes for the detective series "Unschuldig" (Pro7 / Teamworx). As a script advisor, he worked for television formats such as "Alarm für Cobra 11" (RTL / action concept), "Löwenzahn" (ZDF / Studio.TV.Film), "Verknallt und abgedreht" (RBB / HR / Radio Bremen / DOKFilm), and "Beutolomäus" (KiKA). Moreover, he is a nonfiction editor (e.g., "Das Alter kommt auf meine Weise" (Ilse Biberti / Henning Scherf, Südwest Verlag)).  

Timo Gößler has been an academic assistant and instructor of practical dramaturgy, screenwriting, and serial storytelling at Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF since 2009. He has been offering workshops and advanced training for film professionals (e.g., "Schreiben imWriters' Room" (EPI), "Writers' Room Lab" (Bayerisches Filmzentrum)) for several years and regularly delivers speeches.

Together with his colleagues from the Potsdam-based Erich Pommer Institut, he was responsible for developing the Serial Writing and Producing winter class, which provides specialization for M.A. students and advanced training. He has been in charge of the class since October 2015 as an instructor of the film university.

Alongside his teaching and research at the university, Gößler works as a freelance author and screenwriter in Berlin.
